Screencasts, which are videos of your computer screen, are highly popular, simply because they're easy to make and end up looking great.
ScreenFlow is a new screencasting application, which not only records every activity on your screen, but also includes really impressive editing features. Using ScreenFlow you can simultaneously record your iSight camera, mic audio, computer audio and image without having to worry about your Mac slowing down. Even better, the application records not only images but also all the actions, like keyboard typing or mouse movements. Using 'callouts' you can highlight and focus on any area or action.
Recording quality is excellent, and thanks to a high frame rate (which you can set), your videos look just like if everything was actually happening on your screen. The only little trouble though is that the application lags every now and then, especially when going from a recording to editing.
The editor is easy to work with yet also offers lots of effects you'd expect to make your screencast really nice. You can zoom and pan, trim clips, add drop shadows & reflections and do much more to enhance your screencast. Once your video is done it can also be exported in multiple formats.
The real drawback to ScreenFlow is its price. $99 is a lot to pay for a piece of software nowadays, yet if you're looking to produce professional looking screencasts it's probably worth it.
Despite being a little pricey, ScreenFlow is an excellent screencasting application with a very intuitive editor and lots of effects.

- Worked around an issue with Quartz Composer memory corruption.
- Fixed an issue where temporary files could get left around after export.
- Fixed a problem with thumbnails of clips in the timeline fading out unnecessarily.
- The export defaults will now use the saved document name as the base filename for exporting.
- When adding a new recording, the media pane will now scroll to the clip.
- Fixed a couple of memory leaks.
Limitations:
Your exported QuickTime movies will be watermarked but the application will be fully functional.
